Almost time to flip her over

The seats are in and painted! After that I worked on installing the inner stringer that supports the side deck and glued in the king plank. Now its time to cut out the decking and glue it in place. Then its time to flip her over and work on the bottom side. I am very excited with how it has all been going and coming together.

  1. Are you planning on including any buoyancy aft? It looks like you have exactly followed plan on bulkhead cutouts and seat fronts, which leaves no closed compartment under the side seats (the seat fronts end at bulkhead 6, which has a cutout in the center). Is this intentional?

  2. On a somewhat related note: Your build is looking great! I bet she will be quite a beauty when you are done!

  3. Thank-you. Yes this was intentional, only because I could not decide if I wanted to extend the seat front forward to bulkhead 5 or build covers for the cutouts in bulkhead 6. I have now decided to build covers for the cutouts. This will give me the area between b5 and b6 for extra storage for items that are used often or that do not need to be kept dry. My main goal is to have a boat that will be camp- cruised. I'll take any storage I can get while maintaining dedicated buoyancy tanks.
    Thanks for the comments!
