The bottom is cut out and the raised rungs on the building frame are cut to the right heights. Also the positions of the bulkheads and seat front stringers are marked on the bottom panel. This is where the boat begins to take shape! I remember a couple weeks ago feeling like there was so much to do until I was at this point. Lots more to go!

I'm really enjoying the blog and seeing progress on this boat. Typical Canadian guts and determination, no fuss, no fanfare, just a get'er done attitude working in December under less that satisfactory conditions.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see the bulkheads go up and the shape start to form. Thanks for sharing this!
Hi Jeremy,
ReplyDeleteI enjoy reading your blog very much. I live just north of Seattle and I am building a Navigator too. It looks like you are building the sloop version?
Thank you for the comments. I am glad that you are enjoying this site. The enjoyment I am getting out of this project motivates me to share it with others. And yes I am building the sloop version. How far along are you on your build?
ReplyDeleteI am working on the centerboard and case. I have the bulkheads all cut out. I have a heated room the size of a bedroom and an unheated garage so I decided to build as many smaller assemblies as I can over the winter, like the centerboard, bulkheads, rudder, tiller, etc then build the jig and assemble the boat in the spring when it warms up. I admire your "guts and determination"!
